Desktop Bridge / ADB over WiFi

Install from your computer. Over WiFi.

Send a local APK or a Squiffix transfer code to your Fire TV over your home network. The Desktop Bridge runs on your computer and handles the ADB connection. Transfer codes download the APK from Squiffix first.

01 / Windows setup

Two downloads. Two extractions. One double-click.

You do not need to run an installer or type terminal commands. Keep both extracted folders on your computer.

  1. Download Google Platform Tools ZIP

    On Google's official page, choose Download SDK Platform-Tools for Windows and accept the terms.

  2. Download the Squiffix Bridge ZIP

    Save the Windows Bridge ZIP to your Downloads folder.

  3. Extract each ZIP separately

    In Downloads, right-click the Platform Tools ZIP and choose Extract All → Extract. Do the same for the Squiffix Bridge ZIP. Open the extracted folders, not the ZIP previews. The Bridge looks for Platform Tools automatically.

  4. Double-click the Bridge executable

    Inside the extracted Squiffix Bridge folder, double-click squiffix-desktop-bridge.exe. Leave the program running. Its local browser interface should open automatically.

Using macOS or Linux?

Download the Bridge for your system and follow the included instructions. Android Platform Tools (ADB) are also required.

03 / Fire TV connection

Connect, authorize, install.

On the Fire TV

Enable ADB Debugging

Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and turn on ADB Debugging. If Developer Options is missing, open About and select your device name seven times first.

Find the IP address at Settings → My Fire TV → About → Network.

In the running Bridge

Find or enter your Fire TV IP

In the Bridge, click Scan for ADB connections to look for nearby devices, then choose an address. Or enter your Fire TV's IP address manually and keep port 5555. A scan only checks whether the port is open—it does not connect or authorize the device.

Approve the ADB authorization prompt on your TV the first time you connect. If scanning finds nothing, check that both devices are on the same network and that ADB Debugging is enabled.

Choose an APK on your computer or enter a six-digit Squiffix transfer code, then start the install in the Bridge.

Optional / advanced

Prepare an ADB shell command.

Type a single command without the adb shell prefix. Review it in the local Bridge before deciding whether to run it.

Local helper required. Start the downloaded Bridge first.

No command runs on this website.The button opens 127.0.0.1:8765 with your text in a URL fragment for the running Bridge to prefill. The fragment is not sent to this website's server. Commands can change or erase data; review before running locally.

Connection not found?

Check the IP, guest WiFi, VPN, or device isolation. Your computer and TV must be able to reach each other locally.

Security first

Use ADB only on a trusted home network. Turn ADB Debugging off on the Fire TV when you're done.
